Not long now until we head to the beach. Due to engineering works we will now be catching a later train back to school to avoid having to change onto a bus. The good news is we will be spending a little more time at the beach.
Ahoy! Me Hearties.
This week we have been reading ‘A New Home for a Pirate’ learning all about Pirate Jed’s ‘paraphernalia’ and his dream to have a house that stands still, instead of a pirate ship that is always bobbing about!
Children have been making their own pirate hats and eye patches in the creativity area, truly embracing the pirate life!
In numeracy we have been learning about shapes. Can you find any shapes around your house or when you are out and about? Please email them to me for the blog!
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of fun!
Next term we will be stepping into a world of dirty rotten scoundrels. Make sure you lock away all your jewellery and treasure as the pirates will be after it. In literacy we will be looking at a book called A New Home for a Pirate by Ronda Armitage and Holly Swain. Let us know if you see any pirates when you are on holiday!
This week we have been continuing to learn about Brazil. We were lucky enough this week to speak to a school in Brazil.
Please start sending in any kitchen rolls, wrapping paper rolls, big and small plastic bottles and any other crafts that we could use to help create our own pirate ships.
Shiver me timbers, our holiday starts tomorrow!
We’ve had a fantastic time during #rosendalemediaweek, we’ve been learning about Brazil. Next week we will be talking to a school in Rio. If the children think of any questions over the weekend please email them to me.
I will not be in class on Monday as I am at a meeting. Mrs Forrest and Miss Kelly will be covering.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Have you ever been to the place between? We have! Ask us if you want to find out what goes on there…
Your cleaning is RUBBISH! Your cooking horrible!!
This week we read a story about three friends who have had their harmonious home disturbed by a stranger. He makes them argue and causes some trouble but eventually they all work it out and live happily ever after!
Next week we will be continuing to look at the book ‘Three by the sea’ and solving some of our own arguments!
Have a wonderful weekend!!
Please Mrs.Butler! This week we’ve been reading all about a little boy called Derek Drew who keeps annoying one of the children in his class. Mrs. Butler is running out of ideas so she suggests to the child who’s getting annoyed that he takes his books on the roof!
We are poets and we know it!
This week we have been learning the poem ‘Chocolate Cake’ by Michael Rosen. We learnt that it was his favourite food when he was a boy. We have smelt, felt and more importantly tasted some delicious chocolate cake. We made our own class poem that included a lot of describing words.
Can you describe your favourite food?
This week in maths we have been learning to order numbers from 1-20.
Next week we will be doing the poem’ Please Mrs Butler’ by Allan Ahlberg. In maths we will be continuing to order numbers 1-20.
Have a good weekend,
We went on an adventure with a butterfly and a monkey who had lost his mum- some of us look like our mums and some of us don’t just like the butterfly!!
This week we have been learning about a witch and her friends that outsmart a naughty dragon. The children watched us role play Room on the Broom and have been creating their own brilliant hats.
Next week we will reading the story ‘Monkey Puzzle’ by Julia Donaldson and learning how to make our own rhyming sentences.
Have a wonderful weekend!
